The Schwalm Robotic GmbH premises were filled to bursting on the afternoon of April 17, 2018. Just under 20 members of the Hersfeld-Rotenburg chapter of the Junior Chamber International came to visit the company, and to take a glimpse behind the scenes at number 16 Industriestraße. “An exciting company and nice people.” With these words, the young leaders expressed their thanks for the interesting insights they received from Martin Schwalm, Jochen Zeitler, and Sven Rantke.

The JCI is Germany’s largest association of young leaders and entrepreneurs. More than 14,000 people under the age of 40 have come together from all areas
of the economy in order to do something as a collective for the greater good. They bear responsibility for their companies and families - and are additionally involved in the social future of their country.
The JCI young leaders are convinced that the social market economy is the best platform for entrepreneurial action. Only this economy offers the freedom to evolve into something for the common good, and at the same time to offer protection against the incalculable risks of modern life. The measure of an economy is its people. However, the measure of its people are those values to which they commit.
The JCI young leaders subscribe to the tradition of humanism and the Enlightenment. They trust in the maturity of the individual and on their desire to develop themselves within the framework of society. Self-interest only materializes at the expense of the state, when it robs people of the fruit of their labors. The community is best served through the greatest possible autonomy of its citizens.
The JCI young leaders campaign for an engaged society. It is not governmental administration which make a society rich, but rather commitment, solidarity, responsibility, tolerance, creativity, and fairness. And it is not a retreat into yourself, but a view over your own, and even national borders, which keeps a society alive. Globalization is not a threat, but rather a chance which has been successfully exploited for centuries.
