The term “quality” is derived from the Latin word “qualitas” which, when translated into English, is equivalent to characteristic, property, state. In our everyday lives, we often associate the word “quality” with something of a special grade. This is true not only of products but also for services. If a product or a service is of good quality, this is same as saying that it meets certain requirements or even certain expectations. Where products are concerned, the quality or grade can be determined relatively distinctly with technical methods of measurement and based on firmly defined criteria. For services, however, this is not so simple because customers or clients often have different standards of quality or, in other words, have varying expectations for what constitutes the service they have commissioned.
"When selecting a contractor, an important point for orientation for clients in our sector is undoubtedly whether a sewer construction company has an RAL Mark of Quality in Sewer Construction. This is because it distinguishes those companies which provide products or services that go beyond minimum standards (of particularly high quality, long service life, reliable functionality and dependable consultation)," explains Martin Schwalm. “Of course, Schwalm sewer rehabilitation also has this mark of quality and has pledged itself to maintain the specifications for quality and tests as well as to monitor these constantly itself. Furthermore, we are tested by independent inspection bodies, institutions and sworn experts regularly. But does all of this sufficiently meet our own standards of quality? No, because our maxim is to provide our clients with tailored solutions of the highest level of quality at the construction site every time. And this standard will not change. We are working on it constantly and we will also be judged by it in 2017.”
