B 62 is one of the longer A-Roads across Germany. It travels from the west to the east, through the states of Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Thuringia. As the road is constantly busy, traffic jams are unavoidable. This is also the case at Alsfeld. According to Michael Draband, Schwalm's site manager, "it would have been impossible to carry out the contract given to us by Alsfeld's public works department, which asked us to place a large number of seal plugs in the sewer network beneath the B 62, during the day." As a result, Andreas Breul and Ronny Weisbrich had to work at nights, when almost everything was asleep. On 27.01.2014, at 8 p.m., it began. It was time to take advantage of the quiet time and seal off many open defunct connectors until 5 a.m. The two Schwalm employees worked for three nights. "We put in 26 seal plugs, then performed quality checks and did the paperwork," says Andreas Breul. "We are very happy with the result. The project was carried out to a high standard and the timetable was adhered to. During the day, it would have been impossible to do this in such a short space of time, given the traffic situation."
